Cookies and browser storage

What Stays in Your Browser

A page can work locally without remembering your draft. Here is the distinction between the journal’s functions and persistent storage.

What these pages set

The journal’s authored HTML, CSS and JavaScript do not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, or include advertising and analytics tools. Navigation, expandable questions and scroll animations do not need persistent identifiers. The contact preview is held in the current page rather than saved as a site draft.

Cookies and localStorage are different

A cookie is a small piece of data associated with a website that may be sent with matching web requests. localStorage holds data in a browser for a particular site and is not automatically sent with each request. Both can persist beyond the current page visit. Browser storage can be used for a preference, but its presence alone does not tell you the purpose or whether it is necessary.

Separately managed consent

A consent interface may be supplied by the site’s publishing or hosting system separately from these static pages. If present, consult that interface for the technologies it controls, the available choices and any stated storage duration. A remembered consent choice is distinct from the room-message text. This page does not assign storage names or expiry periods to a separately managed component.

Choosing an option in a consent interface is not the same as sending a message, creating an account or subscribing to updates. The contact tool does none of those things.

Managing your choices

Use your browser’s site-data settings to inspect or remove cookies and local storage associated with roverzigzagottr.com. Removing stored preferences may cause a separately provided consent interface to ask again. Where a consent manager offers a settings or withdrawal control, use that control to change its choices. Browser controls and labels vary by application.

Clearing site data does not necessarily remove copied text, downloaded files, email correspondence or device backups. Manage those separately. Browser autofill and session restoration can also preserve form information according to your own settings, even though this site’s script does not save a draft.
