The movement is the story
Rover Zigzag Ottr is an independent, informative furniture journal focused on multifunctional pieces. We write for people who want an adaptable home without turning every ordinary activity into a furniture-moving exercise.
Our method follows the change: the starting arrangement, the operating space, the supporting mechanism, the useful open state and the return to everyday life. We ask what moves, what must be stored and who supplies the effort.
A feature count cannot answer those questions. A simple bench with accessible storage may be more useful than a clever object that requires three other things to move first.
What our articles do—and do not do
These are planning guides, not product reviews based on hands-on testing. We do not award safety certifications, claim laboratory results or infer a load rating from a photograph. Images show furniture contexts and materials; diagrams explain spatial relationships and are not to scale.
We do not sell the furniture described here. There are no affiliate shopping links in these pages. Brand names, where mentioned, identify research starting points rather than recommendations, sponsorships or partnerships. We are not affiliated with the manufacturers, public bodies or standards organisations listed.
Reference points for better questions
Standards have defined scopes and can change. Consult the current official document and ask a supplier what evidence applies to the exact model and configuration. The references below are not a claim that any pictured object complies.

Read the exact manufacturer’s documents
When researching designs from IKEA, Clei, Resource Furniture, Innovation Living, BoConcept or Häfele, look for the exact product or hardware identifier rather than relying on a general category name. These are examples of real furniture or furniture-hardware businesses, not a shortlist of tested products. Hardware information alone does not establish the performance of the finished furniture or its installation.
Corrections and reader questions
If a passage is unclear or a reference needs correction, identify the page and the specific statement. Where possible, include the current manufacturer document or official source.
